Impact Ventures Focuses on Bridging the Racial Wealth Gap for Minority Entrepreneurs in Free, Upcoming Accelerator Startup Showcase

Dallas, TX, June 30, 2021 — Impact Ventures hosts Equity in Motion, its Spring 2021 Virtual Startup Showcase and $50K Pitch Competition Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 11:00am – 2:00pm, featuring 20 Women, Black, and Latinx-led tech startups and small businesses from across North Texas and various parts the country. The virtual event is sponsored in part by JPMorgan Chase, Jabian Consulting, and Capital One.

The Spring 2021 Virtual Startup Showcase is a free event celebrating the culmination of Impact Ventures Accelerator Program supported by Communities Foundation of Texas W.W. Caruth, Jr. Fund, Capital One, Santander Foundation, Truist Foundation, and Deloitte. The flagship event features a virtual “shark-tank” $50,000 pitch competition with live audience Q&A, local and national expert-led breakout sessions, live virtual networking for attendees, and community partner expo booths. Also featured during the event will be an announcement of the winners of the Jabian Consulting’s Project Amplify Grant Awards in celebration of their 15 year anniversary.

“The height of the pandemic shined a bright light on the inequities that existed for minorities seeking to create wealth through entrepreneurship. Many businesses were not able to get access to government funding and had little to no knowledge or relationships with their local banker,” said Benjamin Vann, Founder and CEO of Impact Ventures. This high-touch program provides a safe space for talented, yet underestimated entrepreneurs to gain access to the critical social, knowledge, and financial capital needed to survive and thrive post pandemic.

The Dallas-based nonprofit startup accelerator recently received its largest gift to date—a three-year grant totaling $450,000 from the Communities Foundation of Texas’ W.W. Caruth, Jr. Fund. And, in addition to using the funding to grow its own program, Impact Ventures is using it to help fund other entrepreneurs in the area. Impact Ventures recently launched the Dallas Inclusive Capital Fund and initiative to lend and invest 20 million dollars to Women and BIPOC led enterprises over the next 10-years.

The bi-annual flagship event features a virtual “shark-tank” $50,000 pitch competition with live audience Q&A, live networking for attendees, and virtual expo booths. Attendees of the event will also have a choice of participating in 3 expert-led breakout session discussions on the topics of:

  • Building Power Through Community Engaged Investing
  • The Future of Work, Live, Learn and Play
  • The Role of Philanthropy in Entrepreneurship

The Spring 2021 Virtual Startup Showcase takes place on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 11:00am – 2:00pm CST. For complimentary registration and more information about the online event, visit https://impactstartupshowcase.com
